Today I worked as a bus usher for Queen Elizabeth 2's (QE2) passengers. Damn relax. What I had to do was direct the passengers alighting the ship to the buses. Once the bus is full, I board with them and sit at my seat. Since the it was a shuttle service, my bus would go to Grand Hyatt Hotel alight the passengers who want to roam around and then pick up those passengers who wanted to go back to the ship. Most of the time I'm in the bus watching TVMobile! So awesome. Haha There were a few times I chatted with them.
One I remember is a guy who is 90 years old. He amazes me. He seemed carefree. He loved Singapore and his past experiences in the city were told to me. Seemed he really enjoyed being here. He was struggling with his eyesight and walked with the help with a walking stick. I could see he was excited. He could have stayed on the ship but he told me that he was very glad he made the trip for this would be the last time he will ever visit this city again. It moved me.
The cruise was docked at the PSA. The place with those containers which trucks carry. The question popping all the time was
Foreigner: "Where do all these containers come from? Where do they go after this?"
Me: (Thinking very HARD) Hmm all over the world. We have the best port in the world! (smiles)
That was the best rationale answer I could think of. They seemed to believe me, I guess. Met so many different type of people. Fat, thin, sexy, both young and old. Met Baby after work. Had dinner and went home together. Glad she fetched me from work. I was so tired and what I want to see after a tiring day is her. =]
